A Longview woman walking on Interstate 5 north of Vancouver on Wednesday night was struck by a vehicle and injured.

Celestial D. Campbell, 24, was taken to PeaceHealth Southwest Medical Center. A Washington State Patrol press memo did not detail the extent of Campbell’s injuries.

Troopers say Campbell was walking in the fourth of five northbound lanes on the freeway at Milepost 8 around 10:20 p.m. Wednesday when she was struck by a 53-year-old Scappoose, Ore. man driving a Lexus 330 in the same lane.

Authorities blame the woman for causing the crash, according to the memo. The driver was not cited or charged.
