Weather Eye: Rain possible, but sunny skies should prevail

It appears the remaining days of June will behave rather normally with some morning clouds, some afternoon sunshine and pleasant temperatures in the 70s. A couple weak weather disturbances move through today and Thursday for a chance of sprinkles, drizzle or light showers mainly along the coastline.

It is entirely possible we get a few drips here in the county but nothing to shut home about. Continue your outside watering regime and enjoy the afternoon and evening hours as the sun shines down upon us with perhaps some lingering clouds.

I certainly do not see any heat waves coming our way. In fact, we run the risk of more light showers early next week. The bottom line: near seasonal temperatures between 70 and 75 and cloudy periods with a risk of sprinkles or drizzle. The cooler air early next week could bring snow levels down to the upper Cascade passes.

If you watch the extended weather outlooks on the TV broadcasts or even your smartphone, I’m sure you will see the sun, clouds and raindrops bouncing along from day to day on the seven-day outlook.

I was driving around the county over the weekend and saw many convertibles with the tops down, smoke from backyard barbeques filling the northwest breezes with flavors of ribs and other tasty items.

This is summer’s finest, although the official start is Friday. As spring leaves, it will try and exert one last taste of the season with that threat of moisture early next week. We’ll check things out Thursday.
