OK, rainfall from your friends and neighbors: Claudia Chiasson, Carson, 2.29 inches; Rob Starr, Cougar,1.54 inches; Robin Ruzek, Lake Shore, 1.72 inches; Judy Darke, Felida, 2.21 inches; Ellen Smart, Ridgefield, 1.50 inches; Jim Knoll, Five Corners, 2.03 inches; Matt Sloan, McLoughlin Heights, 1.83 inches; Murphy Dennis, Rawson Road near Clark Rifles, 2.94 inches; Dave Campbell, 1 mile west of Heisson, 2.02 inches; Chuck Houghten, Hockinson Heights, 2.42 inches; Irv St. Germain, Prune Hill, 2.40 inches; Larry Lebsack, Barberton, 1.62 inches; and Bill Sobolewski, Livingston Mountain, 3 inches. Our friend Roland Dersken in Vancouver, B.C., had 1.62 inches. The rainfall for Vancouver USA was 1.55 inches, nearly an inch below normal.
I had to chuckle when Knoll sent in his report and commented on the hot weather last week. He said, “It’s great to feel the warmth of the sun in all its intensity. I mean, it’s not like it’s painful. It’s just like sitting in a sauna which lots of people pay money for. Of course, the coast is always there for the cooler weather.”
The first half of June was 3.5 degrees warmer than average, and rainfall at 0.34 inch makes it 0.65 inch below average. Another warm and dry month, so the trend continues. Take good care, and we will chat on Tuesday.
