Clark County Courthouse seeks outgoing, friendly volunteers to provide excellent customer service at the Clark County Courthouse Information Desk. Duties include greeting the public, answering questions and providing directions to the appropriate courtroom or department. Volunteers should have previous experience working with the public and be prepared for the unique challenges of helping visitors who may be stressed by a visit to the courthouse. Minimum age is 18 years old. Four-hour shifts are available Monday through Friday 8 a.m. to 12:15 p.m. or 12:15 to 4:30 p.m. Substitute volunteers are especially needed for on-call shifts.
Clark County Food Bank is in great need of volunteer drivers and riders. Volunteers will drive, ride with or support, a 20-foot box truck (no CDL required) to area grocery stores. Teams of two are sent out daily in the early morning, Monday through Friday, to pick up grocery donations. This is a very active volunteer position with a significant amount of lifting. The volunteer shift is approximately two hours, and volunteers are asked to commit one day per week. If you need a more flexible schedule, trained on-call volunteers are also needed. Orientation and training are provided. Interested volunteers should be able to lift 40 to 50 pounds, fill out donation slips and provide excellent customer service and professionalism while representing the Clark County Food Bank when picking up donations.
Columbia Springs needs volunteers who enjoy working outside for Stewardship Saturdays from 9 a.m. to noon on July 13, Aug. 3 and Sept. 14. Projects typically include planting native plants, removing invasive species, trail maintenance, and improving the accessibility and safety of the site. Columbia Springs will provide snacks, tools, gloves, training, and trained volunteer group leaders. RSVP required. Groups are welcome. Minimum age is 7 and volunteers are asked to bring a water bottle, wear closed-toe shoes, and dress in work-appropriate clothing.
