Malcolm Berko, the syndicated financial advice columnist whose work has appeared for years on the pages of The Columbian, has died.
AM Syndication, which has distributed Berko’s column since March, said Friday that it had been informed by Berko’s family that he passed away Thursday.
Berko wrote his “Taking Stock” investment column for more than 40 years, working with many syndicates over the years and coming to Andrews McMeel Syndication in March.
“He was a joy to work with, and his feisty personality came through in his writing about a subject not known for fun reading,” the syndicate said in a statement to its customers.
