Longview’s Skippers Seafood and Chowder on 7th Avenue, a locally owned outlet of the popular seafood restaurant chain, will close at the end of June, owner and general manager Randy Marsh said.

Brothers Randy and Chris Marsh built the family-owned restaurant themselves in 2012, Randy Marsh said, and their families have been involved in local community events and fundraisers over the years through Skippers.

The restaurant announced its closure Tuesday on Facebook.

“We are not happy that this is the final outcome of the restaurant we built and love. However, we must move on,” the post said in part.

It was “an emotional day” for Marsh, who said he would share more information later this week or next week. But he thanked the community and said he was amazed by the outpouring of support on social media.
