Starting in July, residential building permits within the city of Vancouver will need to be submitted electronically.
In making the switch, the city’s Development Review Division will become entirely digital. Customers won’t need to make trips to City Hall to drop off or pick up plans, or to make payments. They’ll also be able to check the electronic database for the status of their submission.
“With the addition of residential building permits, the city of Vancouver has attained a 100 percent paperless permit review process,” City Development Review Manager Jason Nortz said in a media release. “This makes the city of Vancouver one of the first jurisdictions in Southwest Washington to have a fully electronic plan review process.”
The city is offering free training courses June 18 through June 29 to help cover the basics of how to use the electronic platform, ePlans. To reserve a spot, send an email to Lisa Eruhow-Hagan at Lisa.Eruhow-Hagan@cityofvancouver.us with the date of the class you wish to attend and the number of people who will attend.
