The far right lane of Washington Street was closed between West 7th and West 6th streets starting Monday as part of a private development construction project.
Construction of the south tower at Vancouvercenter will also result in temporary closure of three adjacent parking spaces and the sidewalk directly along the west side of the development.
At this location, Washington is a one-way street with three lanes, all supporting southbound traffic. The lane closure affects the lane on the far right, also to the west. In addition to the closures, drivers, pedestrians and bicyclists should be alert to flaggers, workers and equipment in the construction zone.
The closures are expected to remain in place until project completion, anticipated for late summer or early fall of 2020. More information about the private development project can be found here: www.cityofvancouver.us/node/39006.
Construction is expected to be fully underway in July. The six-story mixed-use building will feature retailing and restaurants on the ground floor and apartments on upper floors. It will be the fourth building of the complex.
