Local collision repair technician Cory Dennis was among 30 employees nationwide recognized by CARSTAR, a network of more than 650 independently owned collision repair facilities. The employees were recognized as part of its Employee Appreciation Month and its 30th anniversary celebrations. Dennis works at the Vancouver location of CARSTAR Jacobus, 6710 N.E. St. Johns Road.
Torben Nielsen was hired as ZOOM+Care‘s new CEO, replacing Bill Frerichs, interim CEO. In addition to working for Xerox and Lego, Nielsen co-founded and led product and strategy for startup company HealthSparq, now under Cambia Health Solutions. Most recently, Nielsen was PeaceHealth’s senior vice president of the business transformation office. Previously he served as vice president of innovation and strategic investments at Premera Blue Cross. Though Portland-based, ZOOM+Care, an on-demand health care provider, was acquired by Vancouver-based PeaceHealth last year.
The International Franchise Association awarded local Domino’s franchise owner Troy Hamilton with a Gold Franny Award for operational excellence, the top award available to a Domino’s franchise owner. Hamilton, an Idaho native, owns 23 Domino’s locations in Washington and Oregon, including in Clark County. Operational audit scores, community involvement, store safety and security, and team member morale are among the factors considered for the award.
LeAnne M. Bremer was elected as a member of the Board of Directors for Educational Service District 112. Bremer will represent Region 4, which includes Ridgefield, northern Vancouver and portions of the Battle Ground school districts. She replaced Trish Kellogg, who resigned in April. Bremer, a Ridgefield High School graduate, is a partner at the Miller Nash Graham and Dunn legal firm in Vancouver, where the focus of her practice is land use law, real estate and government affairs. Board members are volunteers who attend monthly meetings at the headquarters, 2500 N.E. 65th Ave. The position appointment expires in 2022, but because there is a board election this fall, Bremer will be required to run for election in November to fulfill the remaining two years of her term. She will be sworn in at the next ESD 112 board meeting at 3 p.m. June 24.
