Clark College Cooking School seeks volunteer cooking school assistants to assist instructors with setting up cooking classes. Duties include food prep, chopping, peeling, washing, setting out foods, setting place settings, assisting with the house camera, and helping students understand what the instructor is setting out for the lesson. Volunteers work no more than three classes per month.

YWCA Clark County is looking for Court Appointed Special Advocate volunteers to represent the best interests of a child placed in foster care. The CASA gathers information, follows the child’s progress, monitors parental progress, facilitates positive communication, and makes recommendations to the court based on their findings. Volunteers receive 30 hours of pre-service training and 12 hours of annual continuing education.

The Marshall House needs volunteers to greet visitors, give tours, answer the phone and decorate the house for different seasons. Typically, shifts are from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. or from 1 to 5 p.m. once a week, depending on demands.

Dog Owners Group for Park Access Washington invites members and other users of the organization’s off-leash dog parks to help clean up one of its parks on the first Saturday of each month. For the June 1 cleanup, volunteers will meet at 10 a.m. at Ike Dog Park, on Bonneville Power Administration’s Ross Complex at 5167 N.E. 15th Ave. Bring work gloves and yard tools.
