Charity resale store sends out first batch of checks

Vancouver Heights — Nifty and Thrifty sent out the first checks to local nonprofits recently. The charity resale shop opened in August and has been collecting donations and selling items for various local nonprofits. Each quarter, the store plans on donating money raised from sales to go directly to organizations with applications on file. The store accepts furniture, household goods, clothing, CDs and DVDs.
