Fine summer weather continues with near seasonal temperatures and mostly sunny skies. Outside of some morning low clouds that we enjoy and some higher clouds late in the week we should be between 80 and 85 degrees this week for high temperatures.
Thursday night and Friday the jet stream tries once again to dip southward and bring us some showers. I think any rainfall stays along the coast and to our north. So other than some cloudiness it will be status quo.
One thing I’m watching is the hot high-pressure system over the Great Basin, which may extend an arm of heat over us beginning this weekend and early next week. If it develops then bingo, we shoot into the 90s. Maybe some hot August nights heading our way? Stay tuned and we will look at that possibility in my next column.
Not only are we in the dog days of summer, we are also in the doldrums of weather excitement. But that is OK with me. All quiet on the western front is good.
