Fourth Plain Church of the Nazarene is hosting a church rummage sale next week with a twist: Everything is free.

Care 2 Share is an annual outreach event at the northeast Vancouver church, which has helped people over the last three years by giving away clothes, toys, household items and furniture. It takes place 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Aug. 9 and 10 at the church, located at 16807 N.E. Fourth Plain Blvd.

“There are people in every corner of Vancouver and the surrounding communities who are struggling to make ends meet,” the Rev. Grady Zickefoose, interim lead pastor of Fourth Plain Church, said in a news release. “This event is one very tangible way that we can serve our neighbors with absolutely no strings attached. Each year people are surprised when they realize that all items are free.”

The community can donate household items and clothes, but the church is not accepting large appliances and fabric upholstered furniture this year. Visit www.fourthplainnaz.com or call 360-892-4462 for more information.

“We love providing our community an opportunity to join us in serving our neighbors through this event,” Zickefoose said. “Those who donate items enjoy knowing that their gifts are going to help many people who otherwise could not afford the items they receive through the event.”
