Clint Hendricks was hired by the Columbia River Economic Development Council as its new vice president of business development. He will be responsible for working with the organization’s staff and board of directors on completing goals outlined in the Clark County Comprehensive Economic Development Plan. His focus will be on growing its business base in five industries, including software, computers and electronics, clean tech, metals and machinery, and life sciences. Most recently Hendricks operated his own business, CH2 Consulting, and prior was director of strategy at Lululemon Athletica in Vancouver, B.C. Before that, he spent 16 years at Nike in various management roles. Hendricks received a master’s degree from Harvard Business School and a bachelor’s degree in industrial and systems engineering from University of Southern California. Lisa Capeloto was hired by CDM Caregiving Services as its new development director. She will be responsible for fundraising strategies and opportunities at the facility, which specializes in in-home care for elderly, disabled and those with dementia and traumatic brain injury. Nelson Holmberg was hired as executive director of the Southwest Washington Contractors Association’s Board of Directors. Nelson previously has worked in public and media relations, and port administration for the ports of Ridgefield, Vancouver and Woodland. The Vancouver Symphony Orchestra hired Rachael Evans as director of development. Her hire was supported by a Capacity Building Grant from the M.J. Murdock Charitable Trust. Evans is a flutist and composer with experience in donor relations, and previously was employed at Lewis & Clark College and Portland State University. Banner Bank hired George Martin as a commercial relationship manager serving Southwest Washington and northwest Oregon. He has 27 years of banking experience in the Vancouver and Portland markets. Lynn Valenter, the vice chancellor at Washington State University Vancouver, will serve as the chair of the board of directors for the National Association of College and University Business Officers starting Aug. 1. The association is a membership organization that represents more than 1,900 colleges and universities across the country and its mission is to support higher education institutions. NACUBO’s board sets the direction for the association and provides oversight for its meetings.
