Yakima Valley pounds out record 21 runs in rout of Raptors

The Yakima Valley Pippins scored four runs or more in four different innings to set a franchise record for runs scored in a blowout win.

KEY MOMENTS: The Pippins scored five runs in the first inning, then added four in third and five more in the fourth to take a 15-1 lead. The Raptors did counter with a five-run seventh powered by Grayson Sterling’s three-run home run.

KEY PLAYERS: Sterling was 2 for 3 with two runs, a double and RBI for the Raptors, and Cameron Repetti was 2 for 4 with two runs, two doubles and five RBI. Position player Wyatt Hoffman threw two-thirds of an inning in the seventh, allowing a pair of unearned runs. James Bell went 5 for 6 for the Pippins.
