Camas — A group of more than 60 people attended a vigil at Camas Friends Church on July 12 to protest conditions faced by asylum-seekers and refugees in the United States. It was one of two local vigils that night as part of the nationwide Lights for Liberty events. The other local one was hosted at St. Luke’s Episcopal Church in Vancouver. The residents at the event made signs with messages such as “end immigrant abuse” and “choose not fear and hate.”
