A Caring Closet is looking for volunteers to assist people looking for durable medical equipment. Volunteers help people fill out paperwork for equipment, answer phones and assist donors who drop off equipment. A Caring Closet is 100 percent volunteer-staffed.
City of Vancouver Speed Monitor Awareness Radar Trailer (SMART), an educational device that helps drivers become more aware of the posted speed limit and of their current speed, seeks volunteers to work in teams of two on Mondays to drive and set up the trailer alongside pre-determined locations, then pick up the same trailer and transport it to a new location or back to City Operations Center on Fridays. Volunteers commit to three to four hours per month.
Clark County Fair needs fair exhibit volunteers to monitor exhibits, answer questions, direct visitors to different areas of the fair, and help with other duties as needed. Receive a free admission and parking pass on the day or days you volunteer.
Human Services Council is recruiting volunteers for a new transportation program, Volunteers in Motion, to support Clark County’s aging adults. Duties may include providing transportation to grocery shopping, a doctor’s appointment, or even a concert at Esther Short Park. Volunteers can use their own vehicle or can use the program’s van for scheduled trips with several people. Volunteers must have a valid driver’s license, current insurance, a clean driving record and be able to pass a background check. Mileage is reimbursed.
