Tuesday’s forecast was spot on with the light rain and showers reaching Clark County and dumping a good quarter-inch plus of rain. Along the coast 1 inch of rain fell, so the forecast models did a good job.
Beginning today we gradually reduce some of this moisture that has added unusually humid conditions to our lifestyle. I bet most folks felt the heaviness in the air the past couple of days. We resume our weather regime with morning clouds and partial afternoon clearing today, through the weekend and into early next week.
Our average high is 80 degrees and we should be close to that, plus or minus, the next five days. Again, depends how much clearing we get in the afternoons. The high humidity will slowly decrease.
OK, what about the rain bucket? We certainly do not have any dust collecting in the rain funnel for sure. As of 4 p.m. Wednesday, Vancouver had accumulated nearly an inch of rain so far this month. Compare that to .02 of an inch last year for the entire month and no measurable rain at all in July 2017.
