Ridgefield Raptors outlast Victoria 8-5 in 14 innings

RIDGEFIELD 8, VICTORIA 5, 14 INN.
Jonny Weaver’s sacrifice fly and Cameron Repetti’s RBI double were part of a three-run inning, leading the Ridgefield Raptors to an 8-5 win over the Victoria Harbourcats in 14 innings Wednesday night in Victoria. Noah Taylor’s double and Tyler Erne’s single started the three-run rally for the Raptors.

KEY MOMENTS: Down 4-2 in the top of the ninth inning, the Raptors rallied for three runs on Michael Hicks’ RBI single and Taylor’s two-run double to take a 5-4 lead. Griffin Paxton’s RBI triple with two out in the bottom of the ninth tied the game for Victoria.

KEY PLAYERS: Noah Taylor was 3 for 4 with two doubles, three RBI and two walks for the Raptors. Steve Ramirez was 2 for 7 with a home run. Trask Telesmanich threw three scoreless innings of relief in the 10th, 11th and 12th innings. Brandon Steele pitched the final two innings to pick up the win.

NEXT GAME: Victoria (19-11, 1-2) at Ridgefield (15-15, 2-1), 6:35 p.m. Thursday
