The Vancouver Mavericks, a 19-U American Legion baseball team, are into the final four at the Curt Daniels Invitational.

The Mavericks clinched a spot in the semifinals Sunday, finishing pool play with a 6-0 win over the Southridge Bandits at Concordia University in Portland.

The win gave Vancouver (4-1) the No. 2 seed in the six-team Thompson Division. The Mavericks will face the Seattle Stars, the No. 1 seed from the Daniels Division, in the semifinals at 10 a.m. Monday at Propstra Stadium.

The winner will face Portland Baseball Club or Gunderson Baseball (Clackamas, Ore.) in the championship at 3 p.m.

Saturday, Jake Trupp and three relievers combined to hold Southridge to just three hits. Grant Heiser went 2 for 3 with a two-run double as Vancouver scored all its runs in the fourth inning.

The Vancouver Cardinals concluded play with a win, beating the Seattle Stars 5-1 at Propstra. The Cardinals finish the tournament with a 2-3 record.
