Rotary awards $96k in scholarships

Esther Short — The Vancouver Rotary Foundation awarded $96,000 in college scholarships to 24 Southwest Washington high school and college students at the club’s annual scholarship luncheon at WareHouse ’23. In 46 years, the foundation has awarded more than $1.5 million in scholarships to local students. The scholarships are granted by the Vancouver Rotary Foundation, which is the charitable arm of the Rotary Club of Vancouver. Many of the scholarships are made possible through endowments established by individuals and fundraising by Rotary Club members. The 2019 scholarship winners were: Taylor Stephens, Kloe Catchpole, James Carmona, Kendra Fish, Ella Blades, Alexa Attebery, Lawson Carter, Mikayla Holmes, Rawad Bader, Anita Bejan, Alaia Smith, Maya Cooney, Niko Attebery, Emily Blakeman, Samantha Parker, Katelyn Schmitt, Andrew Given, Shana Penta, Erin Besteman, Ellie Petersen, Navon Morgan, Andrew Hengstler, Bernard Andrade and Isabella Daltoso.
