A garage fire damaged a home Saturday evening in Ridgefield, according to Clark County Fire & Rescue.
Crews were dispatched at 7:13 p.m. to the home in the 1300 block of South 15th Way, according to Ben Peeler, division chief-operations for Clark County Fire & Rescue. Crews arrived at 7:19 p.m. to find a garage fire that had extended into the attic space above the garage.
Peeler said the first arriving crew performed a quick hit on the fire, stopping it from spreading to the rest of the residence. He said the homeowner had also been using a garden hose to help contain the fire before fire crews arrived.
The blaze was brought under control in about 15 minutes, Peeler said. Damage appears to be limited to the garage and the attic space above the garage. The main body of the home appeared to be unaffected.
The Clark County Fire Marshal is investigating, Peeler said. No injures were reported.
