Curt Daniels Invitational baseball tournament set to begin

The 15th annual Curt Daniels Invitational baseball tournament gets underway on Wednesday with two games at Propstra Stadium.

The tournament features two local American Legion teams, the Vancouver Cardinals and Vancouver Mavericks. The Cardinals open tournament play at 12:30 p.m. against Portland Baseball Club. The Mavericks will face Gunderson Baseball Academy of Clackamas, Ore., at 3 p.m.

The tournament includes 12 teams from across the Northwest. Games will take place at Propstra Stadium and Concordia University in Portland. Thursday’s games will take place at Columbia River High School instead of Propstra.

Round robin play continues through Sunday. The top two teams in each six-team division advance to the championship round Monday at Propstra.
