Vancouver-based Council for the Homeless issued a severe weather alert that runs Sunday through Feb. 15.

This alert prompts local emergency homeless shelters to expand capacity as needed and asks warming centers, such as Living Hope Church and the Washougal Community Center, to open if possible.

The National Weather Service’s extended forecast for Vancouver is showers and a low of 31 degrees for Sunday and rain and snow showers likely on Monday with a low around 28 degrees.

Those needing shelter should call the Housing Solutions Center at 360-695-9677.
