Deputies are searching for a man after he allegedly stabbed another man in the leg and tried to run him over Wednesday morning.

Jonathon R. McCarthy, 34, went to his ex-wife’s house at 8809 N.E. 140th Ave. around 5:45 a.m., Clark County Sheriff’s Sgt. Tim Bieber said. McCarthy, who still has the keys to the house, attacked the woman’s boyfriend — Casey Lambert Pipkin, 34, of Vancouver — Bieber said.

McCarthy stabbed Pipkin in the leg and cut his hand during the fight, Bieber said. After making his way outside and slashing the tires of a car, McCarthy then tried to run Pipkin over before fleeing the area, Bieber said.

McCarthy has yet to be found. The sheriff’s office has probable cause to arrest him on suspicion of first-degree assault, first-degree burglary, harassment, malicious mischief and violation of a no-contact order, Bieber said.

McCarthy is described as a white male, 5 feet, 10 inches tall, 180 pounds, with brown hair and blue eyes. He is rumored to live in the Yacolt area and drove away in a 2012 Dodge Ram 3500.
