The Wildcats got a key win over Stevenson to position itself for the Trico League’s second seed.

Taylor Stephens posted 29 points, 12 rebounds, six assists and six steals on her senior night. She also had four 3s.

Freshman Lauren Fox hit a season-high six 3-poitners and added six boards, five assists and six steals for the Wildcats, who had a 23-5 lead after the first quarter.

The hot start “helped for a change,” La Center coach Herm VanWeerdhuizen said.

King’s Way holds the top seed, and VanWeerdhuizen said the Wildcats are gunning for the second. Top two seeds get homecourt advantage in the postseason. Top four qualify.

Stevenson and La Center split the season series 1-1.
