A Vancouver woman made her first appearance Monday in Clark County Superior Court after allegedly stealing more than $12,000 from a Walmart where she worked.

Ivette Marquez, 27, faces an allegation of first-degree theft. She was granted supervised release.

A Vancouver police officer arrived shortly before 1 a.m. Friday at the store, 14505 N.E. Fourth Plain Blvd., according to an affidavit of probable cause, after Marquez had admitted to store employees that she stole $12,633. She later revealed she took the money from a self-service kiosk on multiple occasions, the affidavit said.

Marquez is due back in court Feb. 8 for an arraignment hearing.
