Volunteer Connections/RSVP, or Retired and Senior Volunteer Program, a program of the Human Services Council, is looking for volunteers for the following assignments:

The Children’s Justice Center seeks volunteers for its Friends of Children’s Justice Center committee to assist with community outreach and education about child abuse, as well as supporting legislative efforts to protect children. Activities include helping with fundraising, coordinating presentations, staffing tables at community events, and more. For more information contact 360-397-6008 or visit www.clark.wa.gov/cjc.

The Clark County Food Bank seeks food collectors and sorters for approximately two-hour shifts, Monday through Friday. Collectors should be able to commit to at least two shifts per month, during which they will travel to neighborhood grocery stores to pick up food through the Fresh Alliance program. Other duties include filling out donation slips and lifting 40- to 50-pound boxes. Food sorters are needed to sort and repack food donations; please be able to commit to at least one shift per week. Clark County Parks and Lower Columbia Estuary Partnership is looking for volunteers to plant trees and create habitat from 9 a.m. until noon March 9 at Curtin Springs Wildlife Habitat. Participants must be able to sit, crawl, kneel, bend, reach, and navigate uneven terrain.

Columbia Springs is now recruiting docents and leaders to help with spring field trips and guided walks. Training for leaders is Feb. 9 and 16, with guided walk training on March 2 and 9. Volunteers will engage with students and the public to educate them about the native environment.

Habitat for Humanity Clark County Habitat Store needs back room assistants to process donations, and cashiers to help customers with checkout. Sales assistants are also needed to assist customers and keep the store neat. Shifts are available any time between 10 a.m. and 6 p.m., seven days a week.

The Salvation Army is looking for volunteers to help in its food pantry with duties such as sorting, receiving donations, and distributing donated food items. Shifts are of varying lengths from 8 a.m. until noon or 1 to 5 p.m.
