The good news is, the cloudy and damp weather is on its way out of here. The bad news is, well actually, there isn’t any. Back to the doldrums. As mentioned, our highs will be well into the 50s like Wednesday, and some locations will shine with 60 degrees or better. Watch those daffodils pop up even more.
The fair weather will last until mid-week next week, so a nice dry period. Some areas could get some fog or low clouds, but less of that as time marches on. Some of that cold air in British Columbia will drop down Sunday and Monday well to our east but kick in those easterly winds once again — and that may cool the high temperatures down to about normal for late January.
Last year at this time, we were going into a period of heavy snow in the mountains, locally moderate to heavy rains at the coast and inland, windy conditions everywhere and reports of snowflakes from our weather observers in the Clark County foothills.
Of course, it’s almost certain we’ll end up this month well below average in the rainfall department. I don’t know about you, but I am ready for springtime and the weather that we enjoy watching as the seasons change. Still a while to go, but in the next few weeks we gain over an hour of daylight and our average highs pop into the 50s.
