Hudson’s Bay turned up the defensive pressure in the second half to rally for a key 3A Greater St. Helens League win.

Kelso led 25-19 at halftime, but Bay held the Hilanders to two points in the third quarter to seize a 29-27 lead.

“Kelso did a great job preparing for us,” Bay coach Mike Mikeymike said. “They covered our shooters really well in the first half. In the second half, we got some points out of some of our other girls, played terrific defense in the third quarter and made our free throws in the fourth quarter.”

Jaydia Martin, Aniyah Hampton and Kamelai Powell combined to go 13 for 17 from the line in the fourth quarter as the Eagles salted the victory away.

Powell led the way with 16 points, and Hampton added 14. Martin was held to three points, but had five blocked shots.
