Brendan Beall had a game-sealing steal as the Tigers gutted out a 4A Greater St. Helens League win at home.

Down 56-54 with 11 seconds left, Camas inbounded the ball at mid-court. Beall intercepted the inbounds pass and made a breakaway lay-in.

It was a fitting end for a Battle Ground team that struggled from the field and was 13 for 26 from the foul line.

“We couldn’t buy a bucket,” said Tigers coach Manny Melo. “But we kept working hard on defense. We had a great gameplan in place and the kids executed it.”

The only player Battle Ground didn’t have an answer for was Carson Bonine, who scored 31 points. But no other Camas player scored more than seven points.

Kaden Perry scored 12 points to lead Battle Ground (11-5, 2-2).

Camas (11-5, 1-3) trailed 43-35 after three quarters but scored 22 points in the fourth.
