Nominees for Week 5 winter prep sports athlete of the week

Voting, sponsored by Athletes Corner, continues through Thursday

Here are the nominees for The Columbian winter sports prep athlete of the week, sponsored by Athletes Corner, for the week ending Jan. 12.

Voting will continue until 8 p.m. Thursday, with results announced in Friday’s edition of The Columbian.

To avoid vote manipulation, voting is restricted by IP address. That means people voting while connected to a public WIFI access may be unable vote. We suggest voting be done by private internet access or through your cellular provider.

MATT BRYANT, LA CENTER BOYS BASKETBALL: Bryant scored 31 and 29 points in two Trico League wins for the first-place Wildcats.

DYLAN DRAPER, RIDGEFIELD BOYS WRESTLING: After two runner-up finishes, Draper earned his first Clark County Championship, winning the 132-pound division.

MADDY FLATIN, FORT VANCOUVER GIRLS BOWLING: Flatin averaged 223 over four games last week, rolling 231, 206, 240 and 215.

CASSIDY GARDNER, PRAIRIE GIRLS BASKETBALL: Gardner averaged almost 18 points a game over three wins, including 25 vs. Rogers-Puyallup.

ANNABELLE HELM, UNION GIRLS WRESTLING: Helm captured her fourth title at the Clark County Championships, winning the title at 170 pounds.
