Vancouver seeks feedback on proposed bike routes

Vancouver city officials are asking for more public feedback on concepts for bicycle routes in west Vancouver, and will host several public gatherings to hear more from riders.

The city identified Columbia Street, Daniels Street and Lincoln Avenue as potential locations for bike traffic after thousands of people chimed in over the summer with their input on better route plans.

City staff will host two Westside Bike Mobility Project “coffee talks”– one from 4 to 6 p.m. Wednesday at Boomerang, 808 Main St., and the other from 9 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Jan. 19 at Latte Da Coffee House and Wine Bar, 205 E. 39th St.

The city will then hold an open house for the project from 4 to 6 p.m. Jan. 23 at the Vancouver Housing Authority, 2500 Main St.

Finally, city staff will be available to discuss the project from 5 to 10 p.m. Feb. 1 at a booth at Night Market Vancouver at Terminal 1, 100 Columbia St.

The city invites community members to stop by any of these events and view concept drawings, ask staff questions and provide feedback. The events don’t include formal presentations so guests can stop by anytime during event hours.

Visit cityofvancouver.us/bikemobility for more information about the project, and to take an online survey about the draft concepts.
