Every free throw matters. That’s especially true when the game is on the line.

After being fouled shooting a 3 with 1.9 seconds left, down three, Erin Baker hit all three free throws to force overtime, where Columbia River eventually lost to R.A. Long.

That was the cherry on top of a hefty contribution from the senior guard. She finished with 24 points and hit seven 3s.

That helped mitigate the quiet nights from Jordan Ryan (five points) and Ellie Christian (two points), who were both blanketed by smothering defense.

“They were the agressor tonight,” River coach Will Jones said.

R.A. Long outscored the Chieftains 8-3 in overtime.

Eastyn Reeves led them with 18 points. Rayana Randall added 11.
