For the past five years, the 1A Trico League has been a tug of war between King’s Way Christian and La Center in boys basketball.
On Tuesday, Seton Catholic showed it can pull its weight too.
Isaiah Parker scored 26 points as Seton Catholic beat King’s Way 73-65.
“Both teams were just battling,” Seton coach Kris Small said. “It was back and forth. We were able to convert on a couple more opportunities. It was really a battle of perseverance.”
Gabe Anderson had nine of his 17 points in the fourth quarter as Seton outscored King’s Way 25-15. Parker added eight points in the fourth, going 5 for 6 from the foul line.
The host Cougars improved to 10-3 overall and 2-1 in league, one game behind La Center.
