A bevy of 3-pointers and stout team defense helped the Chieftains roll at home.

R.A. Long took a 6-5 lead in the first quarter, then River put together a 22-0 run to take a 25 point lead in a half in which it hit 8 of 13 3-point attempts.

Evan Dirksen posted a game-high 17 points and Caden Dezort added 12.

The Chieftains hit 12 3s as a team — three by Dirksen, four from Dezort, two from Nate Snook and two from Alex Miller.

“It was pretty spread out,” River coach David Long said. “We defended them pretty well but we shot really, really well.”
