Police locate missing Vancouver teen

UPDATE: Pandora Hertel was located by Vancouver police detectives in Portland and reunited with her family, police reported at 8:52 p.m.


The Vancouver Police Department is requesting the public’s assistance in locating a missing 14-year-old girl who has been missing for three days.

Pandora Hertel was last seen Jan. 2 after running away from school in Vancouver, according to a police bulletin. She is on the autism spectrum, has a diminished mental capacity and is in need of medication for her condition.

Pandora is described as white, 5-feet, 5-inches tall, 135 pounds with medium length brown hair and brown eyes, according to police. She was wearing a leopard print jacket, pink T-shirt, black sweat pants and red UGG style boots.  

If anyone sees Pandora or knows where she is, they should call 911 immediately. She may be in the Portland or Seattle areas. Anyone who has non-urgent information on her whereabouts should email Det. David Jensen at david.jensen@cityofvancouver.us.
