Alex Bishop’s 20 points led the Beavers to its first league win, despite a late-game charge.

With 1:30 left, the Lumberjacks pulled within one, when Woodland’s Jackson Finn hit a runner — his only two points of the game — to give the Beavers a three-point lead, which coach Andrew Johnson described as a crucial bucket.

From there, the Beavers hit free throws and scored easy layups to hang on.

“Third quarter we let our guard down, they fought hard, got back in the game, but we closed it out,” Johnson said.

Jacob Thompson led R.A. Long with 13.
