Union remained undefeated, but not without a test.

Brad Lackey scored 28 points, Tanner Toolson added 20 and the host Titans beat Evergreen in a non-league game Thursday.

Evergreen (5-7) led 39-32 at halftime, led by eight points from leading scorer Carter Monda. But Union’s Josh Reznick held Monda scoreless from then on.

“They forced us into a lot of turnovers,” Union coach Blake Conley said. “They had great energy against us tonight.”

Lackey had 11 points in the fourth quarter and overtime. Toolson had 10 rebounds and four steals.

Houston Combs had 10 assists for Union (13-0).

Zyell Griffin led Evergreen with 18 points and Mario Herring added 10.

Both teams missed potential game-winning shots in regulation.
