Clark College is accepting nominations for the 2019 Iris Awards, which honor outstanding women in Southwest Washington.

The Iris Awards recognize women who have given outstanding service in the public sector, private sector and philanthropic leadership.

There is a fourth category sponsored by H-RoC, a nonpartisan political action committee that supports women seeking political office and community leadership positions. Those nominated for the H-RoC award should demonstrate leadership in civil discourse, teamwork, collaboration and cooperation.

A fifth category, the Legacy Award, will be presented to a previous award honoree.

The Iris Awards date back to 1985, when they were called the Southwest Washington Women of Achievement Awards. The program was rebranded as the Iris Awards in 2012.

Award criteria and nomination forms are available online at clark.edu/cc/irisawards. Nominators will be expected to answer questions about their nominee’s professional work, volunteer service and other involvement in the community. Nominations will be accepted through Jan. 11.

The winners will be announced at the end of the month, and recipients will be honored at a reception and ceremony from 5:30 to 7 p.m. March 7, in Clark College’s Gaiser Student Center. Tickets go on sale this month.
