BRUSH PRAIRIE — The Hockinson School District named four finalists to be the district’s next superintendent: Steven Marshall, director of educational resources in the Camas School District; Gary Neal, superintendent of the Sequim School District; Ellen Perconti, superintendent of the Mary Knight and Grapeview school districts; and Tony Vandermaas, executive director of leadership and learning in the Longview School District and former Ridgefield High School principal.

The school district will host a candidate forum starting at 5 p.m. Monday in the multipurpose room at Hockinson High School, 16819 N.E. 159th St., Brush Prairie. From 5 to 5:15 p.m., attendees will be allowed to submit interview questions. At 5:30 p.m., Roger Rada of Northwest Leadership Associates, which is conducting the superintendent search process, will interview candidates for a half-hour each.

Superintendent Sandra Yager, who has led the district the last eight years, is stepping down after the current year to take the superintendent position with Cornerstone Christian Academy in Vancouver. The district had a three-year replacement levy and three-year technology levy fail in the Feb. 12 election. The district will run both again in April.
