Rents in Vancouver remained flat in February, but they increased 1.7 percent year over year, according to a report from the online service Apartment List.

The increases aren’t limited to Vancouver — according to the report. Nine of the 10 largest cities in Washington have all seen average rent prices rise over the past year. The largest increase was in Bellevue.

Vancouver’s median one-bedroom rent is currently $1,400 per month, according to the report, and its median two-bedroom rent is $1,650. Both numbers are higher than in comparable cities nationwide, and the $1,650 figure matches the average two-bedroom rent in Seattle.

The report finds that Portland’s median rent has decreased in the past year, falling to $1,120 for a one-bedroom apartment and $1,330 for a two-bedroom.

Rents have risen by nine-tenths of 1 percent nationally in the past year, and by 1.1 percent in Washington overall. The national median two-bedroom rent is $1,170.
