Eagle Scouts

Seven Columbia River District Boy Scouts passed the Eagle Scout Board of Review during January, advancing to the rank of Eagle Scout. To earn the Eagle Scout rank, the highest advancement rank in Scouting, a Scout must fulfill requirements in the areas of leadership, service and outdoor skills.

Troop 310

Connor Pynenburg, a junior at Seton Catholic High School, Vancouver, led a group of Scouts and adult volunteers in placing a drainage system for Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church, 4723 N.W. Franklin St., with 261 volunteer hours. Pynenburg, 16, is the son of Rory and Vikki Pynenburg.

Curtis Xavier Jenkins, a senior at Skyview High School, Salmon Creek, led a group of Scouts and adult volunteers in refurbishing the playground at Vista Community Church, 20018 N.E. 22nd Ave., Ridgefield, with 126 volunteer hours. Jenkins, 17, is the son of Joseph and Cheryl Jenkins.

Troop 344

Dylan Reece Collyer, a senior at Battle Ground High School, led a group of Scouts and adult volunteers in restoring the bleachers at Battle Ground Little League Park on Northeast Fairground Ave., with 30 volunteer hours. Collyer, 17, is the son of Theresa Hite.

Troop 359

Christian Andrew Faulkner, a home-schooled junior, led a group of Scouts and adult volunteers in building an outdoor study/refection area for Hockinson Community Church, 15918 N.E. 182nd Ave., Brush Prairie, with 75 volunteer hours. They installed a bench, a birdbath and plants. Faulkner, 17, is the son of Andy and Sarah Faulkner.

Troop 462

Issac Bray Hodory, a sophomore at Mountain View High School, Vancouver, led a group of Scouts and adult volunteers in refurbishing benches at the school, with 55 volunteer hours. Hodory, 15, is the son of Mark and Michelle Hodory.

Troop 497

Nolan David Purkerson, a junior at Washougal High School, led a group of Scouts and adult volunteers in building a kiosk for the Washougal Salmon Hatchery, 15632 Washougal River Road, with 253 volunteer hours. Purkerson, 17, is the son of David and Susan Purkerson.

Troop 648

Iain James Hanley, a senior at Henrietta Lacks Health and Bioscience High School, Vancouver, led a group of Scouts and adult volunteers in a computer and electronics collection drive, with 66 volunteer hours. Hanley, 18, is the son of Art and Yvette Hanley.
