The Humane Society for Southwest Washington, 1100 N.E. 192nd Ave., added two employees to its team. Cynthia Galbreath was hired as a veterinarian and Caryl Zenker was hired as vice president and director of development. Galbreath previously provided relief veterinary services throughout the Pacific Northwest and worked for five years as an associate emergency and critical care veterinarian at VCA Northwest Veterinary Specialists in Clackamas, Ore. Zenker was also vice president of development at the Oregon Coast Aquarium for four years and an executive director of The Zoo Society in Tacoma. The Greater Vancouver Chamber of Commerce, 1101 Broadway, recently promoted two employees. Amy Tanska, formerly the membership recruitment director, is now the community partners and membership director. Sarah Cooke, previously the member engagement and communications specialist, was elevated to marketing and communications manager. Tanska has worked at the GVCC since October 2017 and previously was the executive director at the Battle Ground Chamber of Commerce. In her new role, she oversees event and program sponsorships and introduces new members to the GVCC. Cooke was hired by the GVCC in August 2018 and in her new role will be the editor in chief of the bimonthly Vision Magazine. Fitness product maker Nautilus, 17750 S.E. Sixth Way, Vancouver, hired Carlos Navarro as its new vice president and general manager of the “direct channel.” The direct channel is the company’s business segment that sells products directly to consumers. Prior to Nautilus, Navarro was employed as global vice president of marketing and strategy for Bausch + Lomb and was vice president of marketing and sales administration for Jarden (now Newell Rubbermaid). Navarro received a master’s degree in business administration from Duke University’s Fuqua School of Business in Durham, N.C., and a bachelor’s degree in business from Bloomsburg University of Pennsylvania. He also is a Gulf War veteran; he served in the Army as a military intelligence officer where he achieved the rank of captain.
Local agency Davidson & Associates Insurance was recently recognized by Safeco Insurance as an “Elite Agent.” It recognized the agency at 610 Esther St. Suite 101, Vancouver, based on its performance and service to clients. According to a news release, fewer than 10 percent of independent insurance agencies that sell Safeco personal lines receive the recognition.
