Bagley Downs — The Free Clinic of Southwest Washington received an $8,000 grant from Kaiser Permanente to care for uninsured patients living with diabetes. Statistics show that low-income individuals are more likely to suffer from uncontrolled diabetes due to lack of access to health care and other services, according to a release from the organization. Volunteers and community partners offer education, stabilization and comprehensive care to people with diabetes. The Free Clinic will use funds from the grant to purchase insulin.
