WASHOUGAL — Students and staff at Hathaway Elementary School were dismissed two hours early Friday following complaints of a bad smell.
Washougal School District Superintendent Mary Templeton said nothing hazardous was detected, and custodial staff and an industrial hygienist were looking into it. They thought it may have something to do with cleaning products, she said.
The smell was mainly around the foyer and lobby. The early dismissal was based on the comfort of staff and students, Templeton said.
