Girls basketball: King’s Way 61, Montesano 57

The Knights advance to Saturday’s 1A district title game, getting 23 points from MacKenzie Ellertson and 18 from Lacey Zook in their district semifinal win over the Bulldogs.

King’s Way shot 50 percent from the field, highlighted by Zook (8 of 11 shooting) and Ellertson (7 of 10). Zook and Ellertson also combined for seven assists as the Knights overcame a game-high 27 points from Montesano 6-foot-3 sophomore post Zoe Hutchings.

King’s Way faces the winner of Friday’s Elma/Stevenson game at 7:30 p.m. Saturday for the district title at Kelso High School.
