Clark basketball teams fall at Lane

The Clark College basketball teams were swept by Lane at Eugene on Monday night in a pair of NWAC South region makeup games from Saturday.

MEN: LANE 76, CLARK 64 — The Penguins led 40-27 at the half over the NWAC’s No. 3 team in RPI, but the Titans (20-3, 9-2) roared back in the second half for its third win in a row and ninth win out of its last 10 games.

Matt Garrison led Clark (12-10, 4-7) with 16 points and 12 rebounds. Sethon Moore came off the bench to score 13 points. Parker Gaddis had 12 points and nine rebounds, and Sam Scarpelli had 10 points and four assists.

Lane scored 20 points off 14 Clark turnovers. The Penguins made just 33 percent of their shots in the second half.

WOMEN: LANE 104, CLARK 55 — Ranked No. 2 in RPI, the Titans (22-2, 10-1) won their third in a row and ninth out of their last 10 to remain in first place in the NWAC South.

Clark (5-17, 3-8) was led in scoring by Jodi Thomasian with 17. Mahrysa Thomas had a double-double with 14 points and 10 rebounds.

Camas High grad Emma Jones had four rebounds and two steals in 20 minutes off the bench for Lane.

UP NEXT

The Penguins host Mt. Hood on Wednesday at the O’Connell Sports Complex with the women’s game scheduled to tip off at 5:30 p.m. and the men to follow at 7:30 p.m.
