La Center High grad Taylor Mills had her fourth game of 20 points or more this season as the Clark College women’s basketball team halted a two-game skid with a 67-40 win at Portland on Wednesday.

Mills was 9 for 17 from the field for her 20 points in the NWAC South region game.

Hockinson grad Payton Wangler had 14 points and five steals, and Jodi Thomasian came off the bench to score 13 points for Clark (5-16, 3-7 NWAC South).

MEN: PORTLAND 58, CLARK 55 — Tyler Fernstrom had a double-double with 12 points and 11 rebounds, but the Penguins came up short.

Parker Gaddis, who led Clark with 17 points, missed a 3-pointer with 5 seconds to play that would have tied the game.

Sam Scarpelli had his made-free throw streak end at 33 in a row as he went 5 for 6 from the line. The sophomore from Troutdale, Ore., is shooting 96 percent from the line this season (75 for 78).
