Boys basketball: Mountain View 80, Central Kitsap 77

The Thunder held off a late rally to win a first-round 3A bi-district game on the road.

Devin Velott scored 15 points to lead five Mountain View scorers in double-figures. Makai Anderson scored 14 points, Jordan Cook and Kaden Horn each had 12 and Trevor Binder added 10.

Mountain View led 64-50 after three quarters in Silverdale. But the Cougars chipped away, pulling within 76-71 with two minutes to play.

Mountain View advances to face Lincoln on Friday in Tacoma in a winner-to-state quarterfinal game.
